Complete Workshop Furniture Setup for a Humanoid Robotics Manufacturing Facility
Project Background
Humanoid robotics is one of today’s most advanced and fast-growing manufacturing fields, combining high-precision machining, complex assemblies, and strict quality requirements.
Unlike conventional manufacturing, this industry places greater emphasis on workflow coordination, workspace organization, and long-term operational stability.
The customer operates a multi-floor production facility with a wide range of processes, including CNC machining, 3D printing, parts storage, and final assembly. Each process serves a distinct function within the overall production chain and follows a different working rhythm.
Rather than sourcing furniture for individual workstations, the customer required a complete workshop furniture setup capable of supporting the entire manufacturing workflow. Our role was to provide an integrated solution that aligns furniture configuration with real production needs across all functional areas of the factory.
Workshop Layout & Workflow Analysis
To develop a solution that truly supports daily operations, we conducted an on-site visit to the customer's facility.We focused on understanding how each area is used in practice and how tools, components, and assemblies move throughout the workshop.
During the visit, we carried out detailed measurements of key working zones, reviewed the spatial relationships between different processes, and observed how operators interact with tools and storage systems during actual production. Particular attention was given to transitions between machining, storage, and assembly stages.
Area-Specific Configuration
Based on the on-site workflow analysis, the workshop was divided into clearly defined functional zones.
Rather than applying a uniform furniture solution, each area was configured according to its specific operational role, load requirements, and frequency of use. This approach ensures that workshop furniture supports the production process instead of constraining it.
CNC Workshop
The CNC workshop is characterized by high-frequency tool changes, dense tooling, and continuous operation around machining centers. Tools, fixtures, and measuring instruments must be readily accessible, while furniture must remain stable under heavy loads and repeated daily use.
To support these requirements, the CNC area was equipped with a combination of tool trolleys, drawer cabinets, and workbenches positioned close to the machines. This layout minimizes unnecessary movement, keeps critical tools within reach, and allows operators to focus on machining tasks without disruption.
Dedicated Assembly Areas
Two dedicated assembly areas were configured to support continuous and repetitive assembly tasks. These areas require stable work surfaces, integrated storage, and layouts that accommodate long working cycles without compromising efficiency or safety.
Each assembly area was equipped with dedicated workbenches combined with drawer storage, ensuring that parts and tools required for assembly are organized directly within the operator’s working range. The configurations were designed to remain stable under sustained use, supporting consistent assembly quality over time.
Combination Cabinets for Each Zone
Across the workshop, different functional zones handle different types of components, ranging from small precision parts to larger assemblies. Centralized storage would increase handling time and risk misplacement, particularly in a multi-floor facility.
For this reason, combination cabinets were assigned to each zone based on its specific storage needs. Drawer layouts and cabinet configurations were selected to match the size, weight, and usage frequency of the parts stored in each area.
