In 1999, the founder of ROCKBEN, Mr. PL Gu, took his first step into the global tool industry when he joined Danaher Tools (Shanghai) as a management member. Over the following eight years, he gained invaluable experience at one of the world's most respected multinational enterprises. The rigorous Danaher Business System (DBS) left a profound influence on him, shaping his approach to standardized manufacturing, lean operations and uncompromising quality control.

More importantly, he developed deep insights into the challenges and problems in the tool storage industry: unreliable drawer locks, unstable tool trolleys, and poor product durability. During these years, a reliable tool trolley still had to be imported into China. He realized that the domestic market was in need of a truly dependable, professional-grade storage solution. This realization inspired him to leave a high-paying career and take the risk of creating the brand that could influence the industrial storage industry in China.

In 2007, Mr. Peiliang Gu left his position at Danaher Tools and founded ROCKBEN, determined to create storage solutions that truly addressed customer needs. Depends on his past experience, he chose to begin with tool trolleys – the product that received the most complaints.

The early journey was anything but easy. It took five months to secure the first order: 4 pieces of tool trolleys, which are still in use today. Without sales channels or brand recognition, the total revenue in its first year is only USD 10,000. In early 2008, Shanghai was hit by the strongest snowstorm in decades. Roof of the factory collapsed, damaging machines and inventory. ROCKBEN bore the full loss, but managed to restore production within 3 months.

This was the most difficult time for ROCKBEN, but we chose to perserve. In the high cost environment of Shanghai, we realized that survival would be possible by aiming for the high end of the market, not by competing with low prices and low quality products. At the same time, we held firmly to our original intention, to build products that are genuinely reliable and long-lasting.  In 2010, ROCKBEN registered its own trademark and committed itself firmly to building an renowned and trustworthy brand, one that made quality the foundation of its identity and growth.

Pursuing a brand is never easy. High quality requires constant improvement, and building a brand demands years of dedication. Operating under a fragile cash flow, the company invested every resource available into process refinement, product testing, and brand promotion.

This committed focus on quality soon earned ROCKBEN the trust of leading enterprises. In 2013, ROCKBEN moved into a new facility with tripled space for production. The production capacity expand year after year. In 2020, ROCKBEN was recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise in China. Today, ROCKBEN has established long-term partnership with over 1000 industrial enterprises worldwide. 

In Automotive sector, ROCKBEN has built partnerships with major join-venture manufacturers such as FAW-Volkswagen, GAC Honda, and Ford China, delivering reliable sotrage solutions that meet the stringent standards of internationally backed automotive companies.

In Railway Transit field, ROCKBEN's products have been supplied to key Metro projects in Shanghai, Wuhan, and Qingdao, contributing to the development of China's urban transportation system. 

Within the Aerospace industry, ROCKBEN work closely with China's largest aviation transportation group. Our products are widely used across the group's engine manufacturing enterprises, where ROCKBEN has become the preferred supplier, often specified by name for their storage needs.

2021 - ROCKBEN began exporting modular drawer cabinet to the United States. Soon, our products have been delivered to all over the world.

2023 - Applied for R&Rockben trademark in the US, officially registered in 2025.
